Carma Jean Clark keeps her husband, Fred Clark of Caracal Cars, on track whenever he brings one of his National Championship winning Caracals up to Roebling Road. Carma Jean Clark has a special hobby, too. Carma Jean loves to quilt. But, what does quilting have to do with racing? |

When you go to a Roebling Road event, Faye always has a new souvenir tee shirt for you at the stand. Over 20 years, that's a lot of races, a lot of tee shirts, and a job well done. Faye will retire this year. Carma Jean and Fred wanted to give Faye an award to recognize her contribution and her dedication to the racers of the South East Division, but they wanted to do something a little different than a trophy. So, Carma Jean collected a sampling of the tee shirts that Faye has sold, and made them into a beautiful quilt. Racers from regions all over South East Division autographed the quilt, and everyone presented it to Faye at the South Carolina SARRC event at Roebling Road Raceway in October of 2004. |

Faye is just like any other veteran racer, and she has some great stories to tell. She talks about the great friends that she has made, and the people that she knows. Faye has met celebrities, like Tom Cruise and Paul Newman. The people are the "best thing" that has happened to her at the track. There have also been a few nasty "?@#!&", too. It seems that one guy got smart with her, so she threatened to win the lottery just so she could buy Roebling Road, and then she could throw him off the track. After that, he starting calling her Ms. Faye, and he has been so nice to her ever since. |

| It took Carma Jean almost a full year and 100 hours of work to complete Faye's quilt. Carma Jean entered Faye's quilt in the American Quilter's Society Quilt Fest competition in Jacksonville, Florida in September 2005, where she won a Judges Recognition Ribbon. Of 369 entries, only 10 were awarded a Judges Recognition. This is a job well done for both Carma Jean and Faye! |
